Another trail Run and 6hr adventure, my favourite type of race. After it raining so much the day before, my mojo was at an all time low and I went along thinking I wasn’t going to achieve my goal, I didn’t like running blah blah blah.
After arriving I met up with my friend Becky, she had made delicious flapjack and I gave her a race day hairdo!
Registration was straightforward and soon we were having our briefing and then were set off in waves.

The scenery was stunning and after my first lap running, I changed to a walk / run strategy, allowing me lots of time to photograph the beautiful park.
The marshals were excellent and really encouraging!
I bumped in to my new friend Mark from my previous race at this race and we did some of my second lap together!
After the third lap I stopped for am ice lolly, kit kat and a massive cup of squash. Lush.

I completed my 4th lap of 5k with Becky who was doing her 5th (of 8! Amazing!) and I really struggled with my heart rate again. It was super duper high. I was pushing really hard to get to this point. But… I am so proud.
I managed my first half marathon since my stress fracture!

Finished with the biggest bit of cake!
I am now over talking to myself badly about achieving my goals and feel much better than I did this morning! Thank goodness… on to the next one!
Woohoo, half marathon! That’s awesome and a great sign of your ongoing recovery. Well done.
