Run Silverstone 2019

I signed up for this one at the very last minute – I was tempted by the 10km at the time, but went for the 5km instead. Next time I’m in for the 10km!

Number pickup, bag drop and the loos were all quick, really happy with the organisation and the way it was all set up. There were plenty of loos so not much queuing to do!

We hung out in the cafe for a bit to get warm after we got our numbers, it was great running weather, but not so great if you are just stood about.

The pens were suitable for fast and slow alike, I really felt slower runners had been thought of with the organisation of them. It wasn’t just 40 min + like I have seen before, it was ranges all the way up to 1hr for the 5km – so good job Run Silverstone!

The atmosphere was great as the 5km, 10km and half runners all started together.

It was so brilliant running on the circuit, I have been here to watch various races and I have never put a foot on the track, until today.

I was cold for the first km, but soon warmed up! At 3km I had a bit of a wobble confidence wise but I brought it back.

I had my usual issue of going too fast at the start, but I got my 2nd fastest ever 5km, and my fastest ever 1km so I was really happy with how today went!

I’m blue

I was trying out my Ghost 12’s in their first ever race, and I was really impressed by them. They were light, comfortable and gave me no issues at all. I was pretty impressed with them all round.

At the end there was armfulls of goodies and a tshirt, so it felt like great value for money. I’m already signed up for the 10km next year!
